UT Dallas Quick Admit
The Graduate Quick Admit application offers a quicker and simpler application process for students who are currently pursuing or have recently received an undergraduate degree at UT Dallas.
This application is intended for students pursuing a participating master’s program at UT Dallas. Quick Admit offers two paths: Auto Admit or Expedited Review, and each path has different eligibility requirements. Review the terms and admission requirements below to determine which program you may qualify for, then submit your application to your Orion Student Center.
The application deadline is the same as the Regular Application Deadline for Master’s, Certificates and Non-Degree Seeking Programs.
Quick Admit allows a student to enroll in a master’s program after completing an undergraduate degree, while Fast Track allows a student to pursue graduate courses concurrently while enrolled in an undergraduate program. Students interested in the fast track option should visit Fast Track for more information.
Term Eligibility Requirements
Recent UT Dallas graduates: To qualify to apply through the Quick Admit application process, recent graduates must have received a bachelor’s degree from UT Dallas within five terms preceding the term for which you are applying (including spring, summer and fall terms).
Current UT Dallas students: To qualify to apply through the Quick Admit application process, current UT Dallas students must plan to graduate from UT Dallas in the term preceding the term you are applying (including spring, summer and fall terms).
How to Access the Application
- Log into Orion.
- Select the ‘Apply to Graduate Quick Admit’ tile in your UTD Student Center.
Quick Admit offers two paths: Auto Admit or Expedited Review. Depending on the term for which you are applying, eligible applicants must have recently received a bachelor’s degree from UT Dallas or plan to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from UT Dallas based on the term eligibility requirements below:

Why can’t I access the “Apply to Graduate Quick Admit” tile?
If you do not see the tile in the Student Center, you may not qualify for Quick Admit. Review the requirements listed on this page, and if you believe this is an error, contact GradApp@utdallas.edu. Otherwise, you will need to apply through the Graduate Application.
Can I defer my Quick Admit admission?
No, the admission requirements, eligibility and availability are different per term. You must submit a new Quick Admit application for the term you are interested in.
Admitted through Quick Admit but unable to register for classes?
Students admitted through the Quick Admit program but have yet to graduate with their undergraduate degree from UT Dallas must apply to graduate before they are allowed to register for courses in their desired graduate program. Please contact your advisor to apply for graduation.
Unable to log in to Galaxy?
An active NetID is required to apply through Quick Admit. Your NetID allows you to access Galaxy, e-Learning and other services. If your NetID is not active, please complete the reactivation request form. Within two business days, you should receive an email verifying your NetID is active. Once your NetID is active, you should have access to submit your Quick Admit application.
Is the GRE/GMAT required for Quick Admit?
If you are eligible for the Auto Admit path, the GRE/GMAT is not required. If you are eligible for the Expedited Review path, view the Expedited Review section to determine which programs require the GRE/GMAT.
Is your cumulative GPA above the Quick Admit threshold, but you cannot access the Quick Admit tile?
Quick Admit eligibility is based on your undergraduate major-related GPA, not your cumulative GPA. Please check your major-related GPA in the Student Center to determine your eligibility.
Auto Admit
Depending on your desired graduate program, UT Dallas graduates with the appropriate undergraduate major and a 3.2 GPA in their major may be eligible for automatic admission through the Quick Admit – Auto Admit path. Eligible UT Dallas graduates are exempt from the following requirements:
- Application Fee
- Statement of Purpose
- Letters of Recommendation
- GMAT/GRE
All admission decisions are subject to program availability and capacity constraints. Some programs may have additional requirements. Successful completion of an undergraduate degree is required for enrollment to any graduate program.

Expedited Review
Depending on the program to which you are applying, UT Dallas graduates with the appropriate undergraduate major and a 3.0 GPA in their major may be eligible for admission through the Quick Admit – Expedited Review path. Eligible UT Dallas graduates may be exempt from one or more of the following requirements:
- Application Fee
- Statement of Purpose
- Letters of Recommendation*
- GMAT/GRE*
*Most participating programs do not require letters of recommendation or graduate admission test scores for UT Dallas students applying through the Expedited Review path. Some requirements may be waived for students based on undergraduate major, undergraduate grades or committee review.
